hay guys been working on this off and on in Upaint for last 3 weeks keep redoing colors trying to find some starting point realy anyways i could realy use the help of texture kings/queens and a shader of corse =)

the basic idea was to make her look smokie but able to use team colors thats of corse the blue team i also have a red and green vearsion

problem is i realy cant make her look smoky without the help of a shader and some textures on some of the colored parts might be cool but want to leave the gray and silver for a shader to make look smoky =/ but what ever

if anyone can help email me at Bruttal@TheWolfBrigade.com

Hehe since it's your first project try to use Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro they are much easier to compile a skin for UT2kX with and have a load more options than Upaint.
If it should be looking smokey you should apply some shades for bumps and holes in the grey colors and make the grey colors in different tones to make it more rustic and smokey like, not just plain grey.

Looks cool, and this could be the first female cybernatic skin I like(aside from Klas). Oh and the atari boards have been owned. All your base belong to us.

I wouldn't make it shine quite yet, Cantar as it needs some detail first. Think about kinda flames going up the legs but rather than flames use smoke (a darker grey pattern moving up). The prob is you're using Upaint and you'd be better off taking the image you have now (right-click on body window in Upaint) and export as a bmp or something. Then open it in an image editing program and play around with it there. I don't really have a beginners guide but there are tutorials... I'll link all I can find in a separate thread here later as a guide :)

Yup that's much better... Detail is still a prob though. The default model would have darker shades under areas that are sticking out (shadows) which would make it look more detailed. What prog u using? If it uses layers, put the default original skin as the base layer and the one you've done as a layer over it, then make it a little more opaque to allow some of the detail in the original to come through. Keep going though, it's good for a first attempt and it'll get better as you go along ;)

you shoulda make the white (not the greay parts) shiny. and make the gray black. so the flames would be black, nad the otehr parts would be shiny white, that would look so sweet.

Up to you man, I'd put a little shadow under the three folds between the thigh and knee so it looks broken up a bit. Stick to the theme though as it's good to know what you want to do when ya start. Post a pic of the behind view too :)
