SinglePlayer campaign for UT2004 - what do you think?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hello there. Me and my friend have an idea of making a short SP mod for UT2k4, but we both are quite noobs to this. If You have any advice, any suggestions, anything you think we should know before starting, let me know, please. Thank You!

Oh. Ok. Maybe I expressed myself wrong. We have experiences in mapping and stuff. But till now it all was about MP maps. We are not complete noobs in UED. I would just like to hear others peoples suggestions on what to avoid, what to remember or what to concentrate in the first place etc.

I don't know if this would help you, but I've just uploaded the Single Player Framework I've been working on here. (14MB)

It comes ready-made with all the SP code so that you can just start mapping for it, and the source is included if you want to modify the code. It's got a bunch of new actors to give the mapper as much to work with as possible, and I ported a ton of the Unreal monsters across (all different kinds of Skaarj, Mercs, Slith, etc). It also features a save/load game menu, checkpoint system and transition system (transfers weapons and items over to the next map in the "series" like in Unreal).

I put up a list of the most common new actors here.

www. .
I had this idea.

First, play Star Wars Republic Commando.
Second, read all of AngelMapper's tutorials.
Learn how to matinee, like me. :)

Get trustworthy friends to help you with your mod, who know Unreal Engine 2.

Good luck!
