Well, IRL I'm hitting much better when running forward with weapon shouldered (unaimed) than I am in INF - either aimed or hipped. And I'm less than 5 months in the army. Never got to shoot while strafing :p but when running forward, it should be a lot easier to keep your shots grouped closer than they do now.
Of course, you only charge when u r 30-50m from the target (and in training stop 10m b4 the target due to the danger of ricouchets), and the hits are usually only close to the target, but much less spread than they would be in INF.
Of course I can't wait to have a shouldered mode in INF, but that's a different story and I remember it had been discussed.

because its a computer game, not every specific example you can think of can translate directly into the simulation. allow people to shoot effecively running forward and we'll see a half-dozen ways to abuse it that are unrealistic. its a lesser evil kinda thing

You are talking about jogging forward while shooting/aiming, right? You can only run while aiming if you are using a pistol. And no, there is no way you will be able to aim, much less shoot straight while in full sprint.

Just be thankful there isn't conefire when you stop ALSO. I think INF is the only game without generous use of conefire.

It will be nice in INF 3.0 when they can have true first person and have the gun bob/breathing/wobble/misalignment all perfectly animated. Then there would be no use for conefire at all.

All I was saying is that when running forward the weapon bobbing is too much compared to my experience, as when firing shouldered (not aimed) while running faster than the inf job (slower than sprint) and uphill I was hitting more accurately, and I'm not exactly a U.S. Army Ranger or something.
Of course, you shouldn't be able to easily hit targets while running forward, it should just be easier than it is now but still hard.
