    My, my, the forum is back on and while i was away, people have been quite
    creative. bc even managed to bring back some of ut 2004's playermodels into
    the old ut 99. talking of bringing back - i've decided to bring a nice thread
    from before the crash back to life. with minor changes of course. first of all,
    it's mine now ... bwahahahaha ... all mine ... (sorry for that, thug). and, of
    course, there is new content. new visuals. and a lot of thrilling stuff to read,
    download and experience. before we get started, i'd like to make two things
    clear tho :

    if your skills are small or average and you get bullied a lot during online play,
    custom weapons won't make you any better. therefor, this whole thread aims at
    adding some drops of martial hot sauce to your ut 99 gameplay, instead of
    providing tools that fix low gameskills. same chances for everyone and
    cheater suck anyway (not to be confused with cheeta, who is a crafty modder).

    second thing is, that custom weapons won't help you getting laid with the
    ladies. sure, if you show off some stuff to your die-hard-gamer-gf, she might
    be a little turned on but don't count on the thought that it could work on all
    the women. if you see female opponents in ut online sessions, the players are
    mostly male which sometimes can be figured by the playername
    (jennajameson666 for example) already.

    due of it's up-to-dateness, i'll start with a weapon from the recently released
    exu 2 demo, that would even frighten the pope to death.

    -THE HELLGUN-

    taking aside the fact, that it uses the weaponmodel of the old unreal
    chaingun, this baby brings some orginality to the game. while the primary
    fire is a hot fireball, the secondary fire burns flamming pentagrams on
    ground and walls, incinerating everyone, who's standing too close. those
    occult symbols remain bloodsoaked on the ground, so you can make quite
    a mess out of your enemy's living room or fieldbase.

    -BULLDOZER's ASSAULT GUNS-

    what we have here are two arena mutators for a very pretty assault gun pair.
    the used weapon models look quite familiar, so everybody should be able to
    guess the source. but the fact that they didn't appear in any ut 99 mod or
    mutie yet, gives them a touch of freshness in the game. away from the looks
    (i prefer the second gun which is shown in the picture), they both spit the
    same deadly bullets at a very high firing rate which makes em a good choice
    for battles against bosses or fast paced deathmatches for they don't kill too
    quick, like instagibs for example, but rather rapidly.

    TACTICAL OPS SHOTGUN

    it's hard to pick a favourite from the counter-strike-alike mod, that became a
    game of it's own later, cause tactical ops has loads of wellmade, unique
    firearms that charm the player's eyes. i picked the good guy's shotgun cause
    it's such a gift to watch the reloading procedure, even if it costs your
    gamelife, cause they enemy takes you out in this moment of helplessness. it
    looks so jolly that you propably don't even complain about getting killed cause
    you could watch the shells beeing put inside the weapon's chamber before
    you dropped. maybe you're not agreeing with me here, but things like that let
    me choose original weapons over mutators that use the standart weapon
    models from ut or unreal with crappy textures. sure, not everybody who can
    deliver nice weapon effects is a good modeler as well, but i clearly prefer
    completely new looks to overused ones.

    course i'm hoping for the old thread's master thug life to drop in at some

    great post again and nice read like always.
    believe it or not i didnt know about the assault guns mod.ty very much for link.
    both are looking good and are working like they should.but i wished one of them had a grenade
    launcher function in altfire mode,instead zoom.but what an awsome work.never seen so good converted weapons before.sexeh stuff.
    and the spass shotgun from tac-ops is black? is there a new update made?
    i announce this thread as my favourite one here on ut1classic. :)

    wow, that's almost too much praise for what i did. ;) truth is that i wanted to
    re-sign-up again anyway but i wanted to return with a new thread instread of
    just commenting something. you know that i'm always looking for new
    possibilities and additions to get the most amazing experience out of that old
    ut 99 game (graphic-, sound- and phunwise) and this forum helped me a lot
    with it, so what i want is to give something back to a community that has
    been very ressourceful to me.

    @ goofy : brings back memories, uh? despite it's old age, tactical ops is to me
    still one of the best games of it's kind. every detail yells "quality" and the
    gameplay is huge loads of fun and excitement (plus you can add mutators like
    monsterspawn and bloodtrails).

    @ xtc : thanks for the flowers, but don't forget that this is kind of your
    thread as well, so it's no wonder you like it. i know that only very few people
    know about these assault guns, which is why i put them on the thread, so
    more people can enjoy em. and, guess what, there will be more weaps, you
    haven't seen yet in this update. ;)

    @isense : thanks. i believe i've seen one of the assault gun models in ut 2004,
    so i think that's where there from, but since they greatly fit and look into ut
    99 the way they are, i actually don't care much about the source.
    i do know a few things about photoshop and i enjoy doing people a graphical
    favour who enjoy and appreciate what i do, so feel free to send me a private
    message on the board with what you have in mind and an email adress
    perhaps and i'll see what can be done.

    so far with the fanmail ;) and now it's time for issue 2, that has some more
    unexpected content i found on bulldozer's files, so fasten your seatbelts and
    get ready for action!

    1. the pants are mine, so you can't have them anyway.
    2. to help you get the gun is part of what this post is about.

    -THE BULLSHOCK-

    the bullshock is a gorgeously looking weapon and, while playing, you will even
    be able to notice, that there is a red switch at the back that leaves some
    room for speculations (don't worry, it's not the history-eraser-button, i tried
    it already and, as you can see, we're still all here and well). pirmary fire looks
    like the usual primary fire of the shockrifle in ut 99, but does the damage of
    the instagib. secondary fire unleashes an explosive blast, that is very
    destructive and should only be fired from a distance. it can take out a lot of
    opponents at once plus yourself, so be careful if you don't want your winning
    picture look like this :

    still looks good and the weapon is adorable, but you're meat and in some
    situations you might not want to be. i just love to play with the bullshock,
    it's quite a thrill and adds some extra flavour to every match. like the assault
    gun, the bullshock isn't a loner and comes with a comrade in arms.

    -THE BULLSNIPER-

    hell yes, this is a looker too, but unfortunately not very effective compared
    to other weaps. it's ok to play and eyecandy too, but you won't find yourself
    using it very often.

    the bullshock and the bullsniper both come in package that is called
    "bullmaxpackarena" and has a arena mutator for each of the weapons
    and a "max"-mutator that just adds those two into the usual ut weapon
    setup and changes all powerups and healthpickups with great new visuals
    and sounds as well.

    the bullshock is great.i like the secondfire.:)
    hell its maybe the best looking weapon i saw in ut1 till now.
    the sniper is also very welcome and looks in 3rd person view super.

    I didnt really like those UT2k4 converted weapons at all. The meshes were the same pick-up meshes from that game and they look bad. The animations were awfull and it seems that he only animated them in one vector like either up-down or back-forward for the kick backs.

    I have made about 6 weapons already but deleted 3 of them when I was freeing some space in my PC. The 3 I got left are well animated plus I took the time to edit them a bit and made the animations as best looking possible as I could with a program a friend of mine made for me. Here's the ClassicSniper as a clan version so you can see what I've did a year and a half ago.

    TsSniper2 mod for a clan

    This sniper has 5 different animations that actually move in all 3 vectors each. The animations look smooth and they imitate the movements in a mix of UT's SniperRifle and UT2k4's ClassicSniper. The skin was modified so it doesnt look so colorless like most imported ut2k4 textures into UT. The snipers and the main replacememnt mutator have configurations that can be set in game under the Mod menu or in its .ini file. So, have a shot at it and let's see what you think.

    btw, this is going to be my first public release of something lol. I just gotta stop being a perfectionist at least once.

    Really cool models and all - especially since the marathon scifi assault rifle looked like a easter egg.
    But I dont want them for my bots - it just looks too bad that the shooting hand grabs the shoulder support. By the way - is it actually impossible to make the good UT2003 assault rifle for UT99?

    you can make them out of the pickup static meshes but it wont look too good because the smoothinggroups get screwed up and all you see is flat polys.
