    Hey guys,

I did a search and nothing came up regarding this, so that's why I'm posting for the benefit of other SG-1 fans here.

Don S. Davis, the portrayer of Gen. Hammond in Stargate SG-1 passed away due to a 'massive heart attack' on June 29th.

I was sad to hear this :(
I always thought he was a pretty cool dude.

    Aw man.

Stargate was a cheesy but entertaining show, and Davis was by far one of my favorite characters. I didn't realise until they replaced him.

That's really too bad :( I was and still am a huge fan of the show. I've always disliked the replacement for him (good actor, just doesn't fit the role in my opinion). RIP Don :(

    :( RIP Capt. Ahab
The role he played that sticks in my mind was when he played Scully's father in X-Files.
    That was a chilling episode.

What a shame, I used to watch Stargate religiously. He was a good actor and deserved more work if you ask me. Sad to see him go.

Deaths always happen, and when it's celebrities people happen to really care even more.
That sucks indeed. Seemed like a good actor from what I could tell looking at many SG1 episodes.

Unless the filming took place earlier I guess we will not see him in Stargate Continuum. Too bad :( I enjoyed 1969 where SG1 meets a younger Hammond. It would've been cool if SG1 met up with Hammond again in Continuum, and did some sort of flashback to 1969 (Maybe O'Neill throwing in a joke or two)... :)
