Sorry if i have put this topic into teh wrong section or anything, sorry in otehr wise i am new to this forum :)

A couple of years ago i was fed up and tryed to uninstall it, i'll run though what it does when i try to uninstall it:

1. Asks if i want to remove all saved games (press yes and no)
2. it starts up the countdown at 0%
(after 2 seconds)
3. it goes straight to 100% and says it is all uninstalled completly, so i go into teh Unreal 2 directory folder and everything is still there, i can play the game, make maps, add patches, mods and such, nothing would uninstall it.

4. I deleted the unreal 2 folder, and it still does the same uninstall order, and still nothing, teh compuetr thinks that the game is still installed and such.
When i go into the autoplay.exe application and click play (there is no install) it says:

There is an error launching the game
"No s***", there arn't any files or folders for Unreal 2 anywhere.

5. I did a search on my entire computer and found nothing.

6. Still the same order with the uninstalling progress.

7. I explore the Unreal 2 Install disk and double click on the install.exe application.

8. Still the same uninstall order.

Does anyone know what i should do so taht i can actually install (properly) and play the game as usual?

Have you tried reinstalling? I'm not sure if it will actually let you, but try running the installer directly from the CD (it's probably called Setup) and see if that helps.

Also, when uninstalling, make sure you aren't using "Repair" but you're using "Remove".

Don't worry, it's just U2XMP telling you "noez, you can't leave my spell" so you can't uninstall it, so just play it and make it happy.

Doesn't come up with a Install Uninstall or Repair Option, and i have tryed instaling and uninstalling from the CD
That's going to pose a serious problem, and I don't know how to fix it.

Oh, and what the other guys here said roughly translates to "Welcome to the Unreal II forum." I think.

I did anotehr scan for Unreal files and only Found a UnrealEd.txt, deleted it and still didn't find anything.

It gave you more **** than you bargained for.

BTW, you can try the UT2k4 forums, since they are more active and are more likely to have somebody who can help you. State that it's U2, and explain that the few people left here don't have a clue, and ask them what would be necessary under a UT installation since it's essentially the same.

Well, if you deleted the folder and the game is no longer on there, then why do you keep clicking the icon to start the game up? I would think that all you have to do now is to delete the icon? Maybe? I don't know. Try the Remove Programs utility that came with windows. As long as you deleted the Unreal II folder, it's pretty much uninstalled. The only thing that is left is registry keys. And you can find a regedit program to help you delete those.

Why not try installing overtop of the files that are there, and then uninstalling? That, or you get a .44 pistol like son of sam, and go out and shoot yourself a hooker, and use her bones to bash in the monitor until you're so riddled with insanity that you don't care about unreal anymore.
