scope idea

I think that when you zoom in, your vision should be blurred for a second or two, simulating your character focusing the lens. That would be cool!

i think ya need to change the scope's cross hairs from the red UT ones to something a little more realistic looking. Course i've never looked through any scopes but perhaps you might want to search around for "Trijon" (sp) scopes, or in the case of the robar a "mil-dot" scope.

Speaking of scopes.. if you go to: http://www.remtek.com/arms/fn/p90/sights/index.htm

you'll find a pretty good image of what the P90's built in scope.... Also of note the P90 has two different models that include a laser sighting system. one with a visiable laster (the red dot type) or the inferred type (only see the dot with IR specs).

Although laser sighting systems are prolly out reach for 3.0 i'd like to see them as an option for most if not all weapons in a future-future update, or addon. Action Quake 2 (maybe even Action Half-life) had them included and they increased the accuracy of weapons, for the trade off that the enemy could see you comming around corners just as flashlights. Team Fortress Class for HalfLife had something similar for the sniper rifles.

Maybe for INF the Laser would only be used when alt-fire was pressed. ala TFC, or it could be a toggle... or a combination of the two.. It'd be fairly impressive if not only did the player see the device itself, but also include an effect for the refraction effect on dust particals.

Shouldn't be a perfect straight line, but only like a faded (animated would be best) red light line protruding an inch or two. from the player's gun model. Kinda like the shotgun from Q3, but viewable by the holder.
