Scale Problem

I must have done something foolish.
Brushes don't scale properly anymore.
If I scale a brush I can see it change size, but then if i add it the resultant shape is the unscaled size.
What have I done? Have undone something?

Have you tried to reset the brush?

Right click the brush-scale-reset-reset all

it may not work, but it's worth a try..
