An article at GeForce discloses that at GDC 2012, Epic Games had on display the famous Samaritan demo... running on a single new GPU. Originally, the jaw-dropping demo was powered by a trio of GeForce GTX 580s. This year, it's running on a single 'Kepler' NVIDIA graphics card. That means that the days of playing games with visuals of that caliber is rapidly approaching the PC platform.

FXAA is good when your computer isnt beefy enough to power real AA, it washes out the image too much. obvi not applicable to engines that simply cant use msaa.

The kepler based cards are set to be released by the end of this month (if I remember correctly) so those days are approaching VERY rapidly.. hehe..

if only there are games using these visuals at their full potential...

the good thing about consoles is that since 99% of games are made for them, my 8800 is still good enough to play.

I'll very probably get a kepler card if they deliver. that + a couple of huge-ass screens with awesome resolution (not that weak-sauce '1080p').
