Ok I found my CD!

Here's a bit from the readme.txt. CD is dated 12/17/98 and contains the entire Original Unreal with the STC textures/levels. I will upload the levels and textures sometime in the morning, it's late here and I need to get to bed. :)

S3 Savage3D Unreal Gallery
BETA2 Release 12.17.98

What does this show me anyway?

This demo shows how S3 Texture Compression (S3TC) + AGP can give
you an experience never before possible on a PC: Photorealistic 3D.
Normally, games use 64 x 64, 128 x 128 resolution textures &
occasionally they will use a 256 x 256 texture. The levels enclosed
on this CD use textures up to 2048 x 2048. S3TC's 6:1 compression
lets us have 6 times the data (resolution/quality) than without it
with no performance loss. You can also see S3TC used for animating
textures in the Control room Movie demo enclosed.

For the first time, designers and artists can be "set free". Instead
of 2-4-6 MB of small resolution low color depth textures, they can
use over 200 MB of true color, high resolution textures on a 64 MB
machine. This change clearly constitutes the arrival of a whole new 3D
platform based on S3TC, Savage3D & AGP.

For more information about S3 Texture Compression, be sure to visit the
S3TC website at: www.s3.com/s3tc.

Notes:

1. A Savage3D-based card is required to run the Unreal Gallery
2. Also required: Windows98, DirectX5 or 6 & 128MB DRAM*

* When Epic changes their code to remove the extra copy of textures
in system memory, this level will run on a 64 MB machine.
(should be 30 days or so..)

Running The demo:

a) To Run Unreal
i) Go to unreal\system directory and double click on"unreal.exe"

b) To Run S3TC levels

i) Start Unreal
ii) Go to GAME -> BOTMATCH
iii) Move to the "Select Map" field and use the right/left arrows
to change the selection. The following are the choices:

DMs3Gallery: gallery with many S3TC pictures
DMs3movie: Control room with S3TC animating textures
DMfly1b: Self running demo of the DMs3movie level
(Space bar starts flyby, TAB + "fly" let you roam the scene)
DMEgypt1: Egyptian BOT level
DMStreet1: Initial Savage Streets level
DmStreets2: Later version (needs over 128 MB at the moment)
(Walk over light near fence, hit "]" key, then ENTER to turn on spotlight)

d) Choose "START GAME"
e) At the player config, move to the "class" field and choose "spectator"
to be able to fly anywhere you want in the scene and get close up.
f) Choose "START GAME"

Anyone remember the EAX levels that were released via Creative?

Actually creative has (if still available) released 3 patches to add EAX effects to most maps. The 3 available versions were for CTF, DM and Assault. Deck 16 ownz with the EAX patches installed. the reverb in the small halls next to shock (near lifts) is awesome.

Ill see if I can find a link :)

Ok I have all of the levels but need to figure out which textures go with which levels. The level files are small but the texture files are huge. I also noticed that my levels are beta and not the final levels that were released previously.

open unrealed, then just load the level.

Ued opens default textures, but then only loads the USED textures for other texture packages.
Just check the names and packages.

Anyone with a S3 Savage 4 card who is willing to look on his CD to see if it contins the levels?
