hello, you guys don't know me, but I've been visiting the BB since late January.
great mod guys, it has the potential to beat the crap out of CS.
Anyhoo, I think something similar was posted a while back (I think the guys name was WhiteRabbit who posted it), and I was thinking of something along the same lines.
What I'm thinking is to customize your character like in an RPG (though Jagged Alliance 2 was the inspiration, it's more of a strategy game).
Maybe about 6 sliders that go from 50-100 (50-150 for Health, 10-50 for Leadership) , and 150-200 destribution points
-Health , how much HP you have
-Agility , How fast you go
-Dexterity , How fast you can ready your weapon, aim, toss grenades, ETC.
-Strength , How much stuff you can carry
-Marksmanship , How fast you can use sniper rifles, recoil resistance for automatic weapons, accuracy.
-Leadership , Maybe this could be used instead of the money system they use in CS, this would decide on what weapons/equipment you can and cannot use, EG. a person with the base of 10 leadership points would be limited only to the MP5, DE, grenades and light armor (not counting the baretta), while someone with 30 points would get axess to the PSG, M-90, MP5, DE, grenades and Medium armor, and someone at the 50 PT maximum would get all of the weapons. of course you could always scavenge a bigger gun from a dead enemy.
Of course this would go up and down depending on your kill/death total , Maybe 1 kill = +2 points, death = -2 points, Double kill = +4 pts, multi-kill = +6 pts, Monster kill = +10 pts (total, not each), Headshot = +3 pts , your team winning the round = priceless (Maybe +1 point).
(BTW, 1 leadership point = 5 points that could be better used in another field like Health or Marksmanship, which would discourage people from putting all of the destribution points into leadership so they could get axess to all of the weapons, since you wouldn't be able to use any of these effectively if you only had the base levels for the other fields)
Also maybe there could be a special skill you could pick for your character:
- Night Ops expert, Free pair of Night Vision Goggles
-Auto Weapons expert, Less Recoil, more Accuracy with Automatic Weapons
-Heavy Weapons Expert, More Range on the Grenade Launcher, AT-4 and HK-69 are more powerful, maybe free HK-69 w/ grenades
-Stealth ops, you don't make footstep noises, free Silencer
-Explosives Expert, free set of Claymores or C4 (if they're implemented), or Free Grenades
-Sniper, Free scope (IE. those little scopes for the MP5's and M-4's, ETC.), More Proficient with Sniper Rifles (Can zoom in faster, re-cocks faster on Bolt-action rifles)
-Medical, Gets a free med-kit, can heal other troops 50% faster than usual (This is only if you put in a Med-kit, a much better idea than just finding medical kits on the ground)
Of course you would set all of this up in the Player configuration screen, and wouldn't be albe to change it mid-game. what worries me is that someone would be able to hack in and give themselves full stats.
And I don't see this happening untill after v3.0.
I await your comments (whether they be good or bad)
