RoAR Assault and MapVote

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

EDIT: This is for the ut2k3 version of mapvote.

There is a problem with using your MapVote package with RoAR Assault. I do not know if Doc has contacted you or whatever but just in case he hasn't ...

When the first map (first being the VERY first when the server starts) goes through the first round it seems to call a vote but does not show the hud. However, you can still toggle it and make a selection. More times than not the players are not paying attention to a vote. When the second rounds get going, the map changes. It appears that it is still going through the vote process, albeit unseen, and using the next default map.

Any suggestions. I can generate a log if you'd like but it seemed to be a code interoperability problem to me.

Could you look into it and point me into the correct direction?

If you run MapVote on your server without RoAR Assult (with CTF for example) does it work correctly ?
Just trying to figure out if you have the server setup correctly.

Yes it does. It only seems to happen with RoAR Assault.

A point that must be highlighted is that we implemented a soft reset between rounds which basically resets movers and triggers and game specific things (FortStandards) so that they can be triggered again in the second half. However, we have the option of reloading the second round by making a tweak in the ut2003.ini file. Under that state, we get one round only.

It has been about a month since I've looked at it. I can set up my server and do some testing to it .. now, if only ..

Any progress on this. I have the same issue. If you would like a server to test a release on, we'll throw it on our server.

Cool. I was going to try to figure it out myself, but you blanked the source in the package.

(i've got a similar perl script which blanks the source off of comments)

Yes, and about a minute after I started look for the problem, I got your other email. :)

Works perfectly. Is the package you sent me a release or a test version?

I still need to update the readme, zip it, and upload it. I'll try to do that tonight.

I'll post the link when its available.
FYI, the ONLY change is the RoARAssault compatiblity fix.

Thanks for all your work! Unfortunately the RoAR team has disbanded. For those of you that are using RoAR Assault this is great.

I suppose this will help in an implementation in ut2k4 assault.
