Renegade Gods, the company behind the UT2004 total conversion Eden Eclipse is on the lookout for talented new members.

Eden Eclipse is a first person science fiction shooter with a developed storyline, characters, and a rich backstory. Renegade Gods has been together for a while now and we have already developed a lot of game content already, including a full design document and a clear direction for this project.




3D ANIMATOR
We are in need of 3d Animators with previous character animation experience capable of creating realistic animations for humans, animals, machines, weapons and other ingame material. Applicants must have experience animating characters for Unreal Tournament 2003/2004. An understanding of character creation (modeling, rigging, uv mapping, texturing) is a must. Please provide samples of your work when applying. In addition to the requirements listed above excellent communication skills as well as a fast Internet connection are considered a major plus.

UREAL SCRIPT PROGRAMMER
We are looking for talented UnrealScript coders to round our programming team. Specifically we are looking for an additional AI programmer and an items/gameplay programmer, who will work closely with level designers for level scripting. We are looking for self-starters, who are organized, and can meet deadlines, work well under pressure and can document their work. The jobs require advanced knowledge of UnrealScript and the desire to solve problems quickly and creatively. Having some experience with Unreal Level Design is a major plus.

LEVEL DESIGNERS
Should be able to plan their work in detail and be able to create concepts as well as high quality textures. In addition, a good feeling for creating "atmosphere" in your levels is a must. Familiarity with the Unreal Editor and Engine as well as previous experience with level-creation is essential.
The job not only requires you to build the structure of the level, but also to fill it with life and action by scripting sequences and clever placement of effects.




Why should I be interested in joining your team?
Our mod team is experienced, professional, and goal oriented. We know what we want, and how to get there. We have a centralized, as well as individual, schedules developed for the project yet we still need additional hands in some of our departments, and this is why we need you.

What kind of experience and talent does Renegade Gods have?
We are an established team with talented coders, artists and level-designers. Most of us have released other projects (mutators, maps even entire mods) of our own or with other teams, and draw on that experience for Eden Eclipse.

What kind of working relationship do you offer?
Were a fun loving team - we are gamers, after all. But we are also aware of our responsibilities to our fellow team mates to get our work done in time. Our communication is mainly done via a private IRC server and channel, and eMail-List and a secure bulletin board system all intervoven with our private development pages. Be aware that we are working on this project in our spare-time and at the current state no money is involved, so do not expect any payment.

How much creative control will I have?
Everyone is given a fair amount of freedom and control over their work, yet some things may be important, and must be kept as originally intended. Often general artistic guidelines (via rough concepts or a few descriptive sentences) are given and, for the project content to be as consistent as possible, have to be stuck to.

How much influence can I have on the game?
While we do have a complete design document for Eden Eclipse, new ideas are always welcome. You are always free to express your ideas and get involved with game-design discussions. In fact we encourage our members to think about the game. However we can not have chaos and of course not all suggestions can make it into the final product.

What do you want from me?
We have a large amount of design documentation, schedules, descriptions and other diagrams. We want you to be able to interpret these ideas and turn them into content. You shouldn't need to be watched over or micro-managed to be productive. This gives you creative control over how some things work.

If you are interested, then please send an eMail including past game-development experiences, references and work-samples to jobs@RenegadeGods.com. If you have multiple MB worth of work-samples, then please provide us with a link instead of attaching huge files to the eMail. Thank you.

After you have applied to us, we will hand an example task out to you, so we are can evaluate you more precisely. If this task proves that you are reliable, able to keep your deadlines and produce quality content, then you’ll be asked to join the core-team and gain access to our internal communication means.
