Really nice work, INF Team

Hi

I was never a hard-core player of Inf, but I did play some a couple years ago, in 2.86 I think it was, and always thought it was great (and sure, like all good fans, I've tried to spread the word) Most of my gaming time is taken up with the Chaos mod, for which I take care of testing, and PR, docs, and so forth, but when I want a break from Chaos, it was many times Infiltration I used to play.

But yes, I strayed. Now I've got a copy of RTCW laying here, and a demo of Call to Duty, for examples, and plenty of other 'realism' mods have visited my hard drive. However, when I saw the news of 2.9, I just had to find my copy of UT and try it out.

And that's why I'm finally posting. Just because I felt obligated to tell you how much I think it rocks. You folks have done an outstanding job. I've had a blast playing TeamDM, and EAS, and the missions offline as a specialist are just plain kickin'. Maps are great too.

And for the time being anyway, a generous friend of mine, IceHunter{MoO} has supplied a server for me to play online with, it's called CT House of Smackdown INF, and it's currently running EAS. Again, I'm often over at the Chaos test server instead, but I'd love to have some company there from time to time, feel free to come in. (not a pro, and I'm even on 56k, but I don't care, it's fun)

Anyway, I know that it's cool to hear from folks who have enjoyed your work, and so I wanted to do my part and say, Nice job!

And thank you. This is now where I scratch my occasional realism itch, and I'm loving it. Really hoping you guys aren't done. Whether it's another mod, or a SS retail game, either way, I'll be around, playing and scanning forums for more maps. ;p

You folks have done an outstanding job

Haven't they though?

I keep noticing neat little things that they've put in that there hasn't been a big noise made about.

Re: Servers, personally I tend to look out for servers with a few players I know on already (and I imagine other people do the same) so I'd perhaps jump on a partially full server rather than waiting around on yours.

I agree about just jumping on any server. Many times I have jumped on an empty server just to shoot some bots and find it full in 15 minutes.
Forget it, I'm most attractive than you ! ;)

I was just thinking how good a mod this was earlier today. Think I'll have to let a few rounds off the old m16 this weekend :)

Ah... now you ask I can't think of any

I just keep noticing stuff while I'm playing. Perhaps I should start keeping notes.

i like the smoke. not only does it hardly hurt fps, it looks good enough to compete with today's games. all the smoke, flares, impact and whitesmoke.
the black smoke slowly travelling up.

animations are great too. the walking a few steps before falling down plain adds so much atmosphere to the game when i see fellow soldiers falling hehe. maybe i'm just silly.
stuff like my weapon moving across the chest when i pronecrawl.
Oh and the other weapon animations, the minimi animations look great.

the gui is cool. the loadoutmenu, even the small menu when i start inf, it all looks very professional.

maps are awesome.
the game can go so many ways depending on what the map does for it. i hope we see lots of add-ons, community maps and fine conversions of old ones.

2.9 has been tested and tweaked for i don't know how long and it simply shows. These guys care for their game.
Really the only thing that is holding you back is what the engine is capable of.

Can't wait to see what you guys are up to next :)
Either in patches or with a new mod / game. You'll have my support.
