When I first used the pistol, and noticed there was NO reticule.. I thought .. gee that's realistic. Then having the R mouse button to aim, and actually aiming using the gun sight.. good idea.

Could we have that for ALL weapons, that would really be nice. That would greatly reduce the chances of head-shots and also reward good aimers. When using the R-mouse button, that will allow you to shoot using the gun sight, like the pistol, and will simulate real-life sight blockage from the gun. Guns with scopes will be represented by a circle above the gun and a cross, otherwise all else remains the same, ie. you can still see stuff 'unscoped' around the scope.

Also, how about it if we can simulate GUN WEIGHT as well. If we had a duel, I'd shoot you faster if I had a pistol, and if you had an M16. We can simulate this by the speed of the mouse movement ('reticule' movement). People with big guns will aim slower using the mouse, whilst people with pistols will zip around. This will encourage recon classes to bring lighter weapons. Otherwise, EVERYBODY will just load up on big weapons and there will be little incentive to use the smaller guns.

WHAT DO YOU THINK???????

cheers,
AJ

We'd love to include the ability to use the physical gunsights for all the weapons, but for some weapons there is simply no way to make it look good=(

..yet=)

Btw: not everybody uses the right-mouse button to aim. Me for example; I use the Z key.

About gun weight, it will effect certain things like how fast you bring your gun up to aim mode and how fast you draw your gun(A Beretta or 5-7 will be quick out of the holster but the big heavy SOCOM and Desert Eagle will not)

Why not be cruel and have big weapons move with more momentum. So that even if you stopped moving it, it kept going /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Hmm, Shakken, you don't like the SOCOM that much do u? I saw your post in the MGS forum /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif Well, I agree, it is pretty bulky and heavy. Like u said in the MGS forum, the USP is a much better choice. Since the SOCOM isn't too popular, how about replacing it with the USP? YES I KNOW ABOUT WEAPON SUGGESTIONS!!!! But the real difference between the Mk23 SOCOM and the Mark 23 SOCOM (the Mark is the civvie version) is that there is a different LAM (Laser Aiming Module) The Mark 23 is lighter and the LAM isn't as big. Also, the USP comes in .40 calibre but I'm not too sure about that.

Oops, let me rephrase that. The Mk23 SOCOM and the Mark 23 SOCOm are virtually alike, except the LAM. What I mean is that instead of ACTUALLY making another gun model, why not just remodel the SOCOM's LAM? It would be a lot simpler and easier to do so. if I had to choose between the Mk23 and the Mark23, I would go for the Mark 23. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Btw, maybe as a result of the Mark 23 being lighter, u could fire slightly faster?

I strongly object to the idea of affecting mouse sensitivity depending on the gun you have, much since I use sensitivity 15 or 20 in UT (one can do that with an IntelliEye equipped mouse and still be in control /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif). Maybe running slower and stuff like that, but don't tamper with mouse sensitivity.

Btw, I personally think that aiming with the pistol is easier in regular mode than in aimed mode, since it's in the middle of the screen and therefore pointing directly in the line of fire.

Sorry about the double post, I clicked "post" twice since nothing happened the first time. Shakken, I am NOT following u around. It was just pure luck that I saw your post in the MGS forum. Also, maybe it was because u didn't change your user name? /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif The .40 USP sounds good and u couldn't share the ammo anyway, since using MP5 rounds in a 9mm, 10mm or .40mm pistol would probably blow the gun up coz of the extra powder. Say, that's a good suicide weapon!

Oh, ok. Man, that was some phreaky shit! (o_O)

Well, the bottom line is, we got the model for the SOCOM done, so to save time we'll work with what we have. It's not that I dislike the SOCOM*Euuuugh!*, I just believe there should be a proper balance to the game and also the proper representation of handling as their real life counterparts.

As for the rest of you, BACK I SAY! *guh* Better fall back on my countersurvelliance training /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
