Question: How to get .PSK's

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Ok...so,
I have a question that I'm sure many have asked before, I just can't figure it out...
Is there any way (easily, that is) to get a .psk file from a downloaded skin (i.e. the .upl, .int, or .u files?) If not who knows where I can get the original source art for the UT2004EC models (Metal Guard and Necris in particular)?
Thanks guys!

I know that, but what I'm asking is if there is a place out there were we can get the new UT2004EC Edition skins (like the Necris and Metal Guard) which are now public domain and up for grabs...
Did Epic or Atari post those source art files somewhere that I have not yet been?

Mm, I don't know that. Maybe there is a way to convert the ingame models into psk with a program or something but that is not legal (you need to have permission). Maybe you can try mailing Epic team and ask themi if they allow you to make a modification...

That's just the thing though, I have seen a few (not many mind you) custom skins for those new models afore mentioned so the source art has to be out there somewhere...
I e-mailed one of the guys that made one of the skins but he never responded...the other guy has no e-mail address...
Illegal or not (it's not like I'll sell these skins or even post them...it's just for my own personal use) nobody knows if you can convert the in-game model into a .psk or has heard of where the source art is?

You I have to buy the ECE DVD then...(which I did not) I own UT99, UT03, UT04 (all of which I paid for and legally own (even though I still get CD-Key issues in UT04) but I simply downloaded the ECE version...
So I have to spend another 40$ just to get the source art?
Lame if that's the case.
I'll keep looking and I'll try Epic too.

Oh sorry I was under the impression you already had the ECE DVD.

If you have the cd version of UT2k4 the source art should be on the last disk. The psk files are in a folder called "meshes" and the skins are in a folder called "textures"
