In infiltration when you switch firing modes there is no animation for it whatsoever all there is is a little clicking sound. Now I'm no gun expert but I'm sure there must be a button or a switch or something that you need to press to switch firing modes. Anyone care to comment on this?

Some guns have an animation, but I believe for most, all you would need to do is either tilt the gun (animation required) or use your thumb (no animation required).

Well, I never was good with the M16 saftey thumbwise. I always tilted the rifle and selected the fire position with my left hand. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen anybody do it with just their thumb.

HA? Man this is stupid, they teach you here to open the safety as you raise the rifle to the shoulder and you get used to it you won't even have to think about unsafing/safing the weapon in combat. It really is in thumb's reach. If you need, I'll post some photos.

Just grabbed the Colt, and tried this. Like I remember, from safe to semi is intuitive, very simple. Semi to Auto is a bit of a stretch for my thumb, but no strain. NOW going from semi to safe requires me to roll my hand to the left slightly..

Taking your eyes off the target to LOOK at the FCS is a great way to be fitted for a ballistically induced frontal lobotomy.

All those guys bitching about the Steyr AUG but what you can't bitch about is the safety system and the Semi-Auto system. I just need to press a "button" with my forefinger to "unsafe" it, now this button sticks out on the other side of the rifle, pressing it with my thumb makes the weapon safe again. Pretty easy and doesn't take any time.
Pressing the trigger once (to the first resistor) let's it fire semi, pressing it farther let's it fire auto. Pretty easy and comfortable. ;)

I find it easy to go from safe to semi to auto without moving my right hand or the weapon.

However, moving from auto back to semi or safe requires me to take my finger off the trigger unless I reeeally stretch my thumb.

That said, I don't think there is a need for an animation.

Well I never flip to auto anyway, but yes, it's kinda harder than flipping between safe/semi, which require NO animation WHATSOEVER.
