Quastion to the developers

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hi!

I´m just wondering what programs do you use when your are making this mod.
Do you do your models in 3D Studio Max or some other program?

I´m just wondering becouse I´m thinking of starting a new mod, and then I´ll have to learn everything from scratch, so I thought that I ask the best(you guys!!!) which programs I´ll shuld learn.

I think Warren uses 3D Studio Max 3
But I don't believe he'll find time to guide you through the programm (too much work on V3)

Thanks... Do you use others programs too? Which program do you use for the coding?
Can you write a list of all programs you use for this mod?

Not sure what program floats Catalyst's boat, but from my experience, some people use TextPad (your basic text editor, similar to Notepad)
Not much to learn there, but feel free to ask if you're stuck on something /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif

For Unrealscripting, I use good ol' UnrealED mostly, and sometimes plain ol' Wordpad for editing the .uc files before recompiling via UCC. For anything outside Unrealscripting, I prefer Microsoft Developer Studio.

Perfectly OK /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's most similar to Java, but it's its own language in reality. It's actually very easy to pick up, easier than any "real" programming language IMO. It is the same language for both Unreal and UnrealTournament, it's just that there are some changes in the core functions between the two games, but not much.
