Quake 3: Linux or Not?

a friend of mine is giving me a free 6-8 Gig hard drive to but seperate from my other 12.9 Gig hard drive so that i can run both Linux and Windows 98. I know most of the people out there think Q3 sucks but I rather enjoy it and i want a new shooter. So which runs better Q3 on Linux or Q3 on Win 98?
