I saw the german review the day before yesterday and finally early this morning I read the english version.

If you read carefully they are only using the 77.77 drivers which are not as good as the newer ones and unfortionately dont offer support for these cards. Also if you notice that they only got 3 out of 4 gpu's to work together. No idea what the 4rth one is doing or why they couldnt get it to work.

I would say this is more like a preview than a review seeing as they didnt compare just one of the cards to 2 regular 7800gtx cards in sli.

As it stands its a galactic waste of money for benchmarkers... but I can see its value for the game Fear. Again... its probably a driver issue that needs to be worked out.

It's still neat to see an article that gives us answers to what we have all been thinking since we saw the first pictures of these cards.

3dfx pioneered SLA with upto 8 Voodoo5 chipsets running in parallel on a single board for Sun.
Theoretical limit is 32 gpu's ATM running dual 16xPCIE.
Still pretty amazing, and remember in 2003 Tim Sweeney was quoted as saying a 1gig video card for running U3 (UT2007) would be recommended hardware :D

concidering there`s only like 2000 NVidia 7800 cards made in the world with 512mb of memory, less then a thousand people will be able to run the game. :B

I wouldnt run a GTX card on UT2k7. You need a much powerful card with more ram than 256mb to get decent frame rates... and I mean decent by saying that it never dips below 60fps in any situation.

Its a waste for the average consumer.

If you have the budget, and you need the raw power for something ...its not a waste of money. I'm not talking strictly about just playing games either. I can certainly see the potential of having one of these cards.

Besides being a gamer, I do CAD/CAM, believe me these cards are not a waste as they signifcantly improve throughput and allow for larger/more comlpex modelling than was ever possible before.
