pushing custom skins when hosting a server

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hey ya'll, long time no see :). I host my own server now, and most things work all nice and dandy. I wanna add custom skins to my servers now. I've looked around online on several tutorials, but I can't seem to make heads or tails out of it. I understand that you need to put the .utx in textures folder and .ukx in animation etc., however the problem always comes up with the .upl file. On the one tutorial, it was saying that you would need to create a .u file. Does anyone know how to create one of these? Back to the .upl file, however, if you add that to the server packages list, the server will not boot up completely, and give me an error like it cannot find the file. Again I read up on another tutorial and that you needed a umod thing? What is this, where can I get it, etc.? Is this at all related that came with the UT editor that came with the game? I know this can be done, I've seen Bender from futurama running around in a few maps, even though I did not download the model. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully if we can figure this out we can put it as a sticky so people like myself will stop asking :).

You don't push the .upl as such. You need to first make an unreal script file and compile it for the character. Then server packages=whatever (without .utx etc - no file entensions). Beyond that you'll find any info you need in the link SaD listed. The error's caused by you adding a file extension to serverpackages ;)
