Project Nexus Dev. Team: "Xu:CE" Mod

Project Nexus is up and running again and looking at a new mod to make a come back with.

    http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~projectnexus/

"Xu:CE" as it is dubbed is a mod focused on the following:

    - Enhanced Combat
    - Class Specifications
    - Species/Race Abilities
    - Modified Movement
    - And more...

The mod's entire focus is the expansion of the combat in UT2004 - rather - evolving the combat systems. This is done by looking at many ideas and outcomes that have been put out - Like the melee system in UC2 or the class system of U2XMP/UTXMP. Aswell as adding a few more of our own things to spice it up, for instance: More versatile movement, an array of weapons (both melee and fire arms), a species/race system which provides significant bonuses to the character.

    The following positions are open:

    - Modeler*
    .......Characters, Items, and Weapons
    - Animator*
    .......Animations
    - Texture Artist*
    .......Detailed 2-D Textures
    - Coder*
.......Class, Weapon, Movement, ... Unreal Script
    - Concept Artist
.......Detailed sketches both rough and fine to create 3-D assets from
    - Level Designer
.......Variety of themes and the use of complex, yet fluid map design.

(* indicates fields that currently have no one occupying them)

These openings require that you have an extensive knowledge in the given field you apply for. If you can fill more than one of these positions, that would be quite welcome - assuming it necessary. A portfolio/samples are requested as visual reference of your skill with the programs being used. It should also be known that this will require effort and a great deal of time - so you need not apply if you have a hectic schedule as it is. However, even though alot of work will need to be done, there is times where everything can be rather laid back, but there also will be those times where deadlines need to be met - so be prepared for both.

If you wonder what I bring to the project:

    - Level Designer
    - Concept Artist
    - Hosting - PU/Forums/Blogs

A little example of some of my work - this level was designed in Auto CAD LT 2002 to start with, then was made into the 3D environment you see there. However - this level isn't even 15 % done but it is still a good example. If you require more - don't be afraid to ask.

Does Project Nexus has anything to do with Nexus, the vaporware game?

Thats nice, because near a year ago, when you were Torlan, we had the name and retained the name of Project Nexus. Issues = yours, none here. - I checked the Project Torlan site and there is only the reference to Project Nexus as the "Project Nexus' HaloUT CXP" that was the map pack right? How can you be Torlan and Nexus?....sounds like someone's trying to be greedy.

one. _E shut up, we already caught you with a matching ip address on both Vince and _E so just go bug the Half-Life modders, and two, it was Exo's idea to try and shave off the bad rep we may have gained from people like Klasnic_E and Vince here(same person) showing up and toying with us. i know the whole switch thing was weird, but i just refer to 'em as Torlan/Nexus all the time. We've released what i think will be our last item for 2k4 so i dont see a big deal anyhow, other then everyone who knows what was going on being really confused...

    -=Edit=-
and thanks for the defense Vince, but working with one of the mods here, we found you to have an ip address to match what we have for _E on record.

Still, they can't get all the good names, HaloUT is known as PT it has to the UT2K4 community for some time now. If anything Exo will get a new host because he wanted me on the team  The only bad reputation is Neil, also your a bad host, if Exodus wants a reliable host, i can divert him to ValdeGames, they're proffessional, not you ;)

Never the less - Project Nexus held the name before Project Torlan made their change, that is the point I've made - other than that - try to keep it out of this topic.

Guys, keep this stuff out of these threads. Use a PM or whatever to discuss these kinds of issues. This thread is trying to recruit members, not to discuss what name belongs to who, because in all reality, I doubt the players of these mods will care.

    Look.

We don't care if they start calling themselves Nexus. WE ARE OK WITH THAT.

_E, if you haven't seen, we switched to Spartan7 because we are going to be designing Halo related material on UT2007. In other words, what I am saying is that if we retained the name "HaloUT" for UT2007, it would be old. So we switched to Spartan7.

Why would you care anyway? Another oblivious idiotic act; everyone on BU hates you now anyway.

And further more, _E, you are spamming on someone else's thread property for no reason. When we got on YOUR thread, we had reasons because you were abusing other mods.

In other words, we have reasons, you don't.

Oh, and, [SAS]Solid Snake, I'm chill, alrighty? :)

ok, Etah already knows this, i've pmed him on it, but if theres anything web wise that's needed, i'm here to help. the mod community doesn't exactly have enough web site designers to help the people get their content out there in a means that matches the beauty of the content itself.

You said this is a come back? What were you doing before, because a man called Mematrix started a Project Nexus on Megaman last year out of spite for our team, which at the time had just come up with the name. We delayed the use of this name while we negociated with Mematrix on the thievery of this thus the name was not used straight away on any large scale.
