hello all, i have recently been in the works of what i call project "hate", i have been working on this single player mod of WW2 that follows a german soldier through the battles that innevitably led to their downfall
First off let me tell you about me... i am a 15 year old student, i have never worked on a real mod project, but i have done mapping for jedi knight 2, and i have recently began to mess with UNreal ED (wich i like much better than GTK radiant) and i also know a little of C++, Javascript, and am beggining to learn Uscript
this mod project will be a learning experience for those who have knowledge of coding, moddeling, mapping.... but have never been on a mod team before, those who have been on a mod team may find this mod a little slow for your liking but it would be nice if you joined...
i currently have a dedicated research team looking for:
Hitlers motivation
Battle tactics of the nazi's and their diffrent divisions
the uniforms of the diffrent sides and countries
the weapons the diffrent factions used and at what time they used them
and the way each battle turned out, for instance did the battle ever look in favor of the germans? then the americans sent in reinforcements and eventually won the battle
The leader of my research team has told me, things are getting done, and they are getting done fast.
Now i am in need of team members who do the dirt and grit part of modding
i am looking for:
2-3 modelers for player models, weapons, and static meshes
1-2 programmers (depending on the skill of the lead programmer)
2 mappers who are fluent in UnrealED
1 2d artist (i already have one)
1 maybe 2 sound speciallists, for the sounds of guns, voices and such...
1 cinematic creator
Now your thinking... this person has never worked on a mod before.. why the hell should i join this mod?
True i have never worked on a mod before, but i have taken a course in game development and design with a local college and you will need very little waiting, i will have most of the information for you ie: what the battlefield looked like for mappers, what clothes they were wearing for 2d artists, etc.
now about the mod:
As i said earlier the mod will follow a german soldier through the battles of the second world war. i will try to let the mod make u see hitlers motivation behind his actions, and how the nazi's really were, and not exagerated like they are today. The mod will be semi - realistic it wont be "i can take 1000 bullets and never die!" type, but it also wont be 1 bullet == death, the player will be able to carry one main gun, and one pistol throughout a mission, the player will start out with the standard issue guns for that mission, but as they progress they may or may not find diffrent weapons they can pick up but they will have to discard the category weapon they have. also players will start out with 3-5 grenades, depending on testing and balancing
it shall be entirely first person, and i want to make it have a dark and gritty fealing
alright i shall leave it at that, i am working on a design document wich i shall post later if anyone is interested in the mod, please post whatever questions you have, thanks much
