I love power outages. When there's absolutely no electricity, everything takes on a weird sense of primitivism. You have to do things people did 200 years ago. It's quite fun.
Yeah, and if you dont have your comp on a UPS, then you're out a random amount of money. Yippie-yo-yippie-yay.
Anyway, B_P: How's the battery life on your UPS? Mine gives out at most 10 minutes of frantic SAVE SAVE SAVE UH OHES time before it dies, and it used to give out at least three hours.

I don't really mind power outages, my complex has backups for heat, light, and certain appliances like the refridgerator, and my UPS gives me about 20 hours of useable time with four computers and my wireless AP on it

Dad tested it and the battery needs replacing. I guess it's good to do it now before summer hits.

Yeah, I have a 6 year old one that bit the dust. Holds a charge long enough for aprox. 0.6 seconds of 'OMFGSAVE' time, where its rated at 10.
I might try manually charging the battery via a model/car battery charger, high mA, seems to work on phone batteries.

I have a Ferrups by Best Power, it has six motorcycle batteries in it, the subtle downside is that it runs on 220

You dont need the heated beads, most lubes now offer a warming sensation upon contact. Havent you seen those K-Y commercials that come on around dinner time?
