Well tear gas doesn't hurt you directly.. thus the name TEAR gas.. if we figure out a good way to simulate this on a person's screen, we may do it- cause incoherancy and general disallusion making them easier targets..

Grenade and Flashbang affects

I remembered playing Rogue Spear and being surprised by the affects whenever grenade went off near you or a flashbang went off in front of your face. The grenade not only hurt you(in not killed) but also blacked out your vision and made a ringing sound which drowned out a lot of sounds around you.(I guess to simulate the ringing in your ears) The flashbang created a white out and left a kind of burn in effect on your eyes. Sort of if you stared into your desk lamp. It didn't create a sense of incoherancy(or if it did, was not long enough) and I was still able to walk about and continue to fight as if normal. Anyway, I thought those examples were a good to refer to. It didn't save the game for me however. I don't know how tear gas would be simulated but I'm sure the INF team will figure it out.
By the way, gret mod! Can't wait to see 2.8.

I can imagine tear gas burns your eyes, or at least irritates them significantly. Just make it red out your screen. Nothing fancy or complicated.

I dont want to get into which is better (Inf is! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif), but cs has a nice concussed effect if you are to close to a flashbang (or whatever it is) when is goes off.
