Hi all, I make outside Maps with UE3 and due to their size I add portals but i'd like to know if what I do works?
I have come to the conclusion that making hollow BSP's and using them as portals could be ideal but would/does that really work?
I had already noticed in some parts the Framerate (unportal'd) slows down and by using a hollow BSP as a portal in that area improved the rate but made other parts of the Map slower... it's odd.
I have used Additive Map making.
I do understand doorways etc.. use the thin BSP sheet but with a large outdoor Maps I found them impossible to use and thought hollow BSP basically.
