The top Game-tuned-PC makers (Falcon NW, AlienWare) all use some varient of the GeForce 256. I use a Voodoo3-3000.

if you play UT alot, then voodoo3 is the best no questions. if you play q3, or any other action game then GeForce is probly best, although for that high of a price i dont personally think its worth it.

Just wait a few of months, 3dfx is gonna be hitting hard with the new VooDoos. If you havent seen the power on these cards, go to the site. Now is not the time to buy.

I own a TNT2 in my P3-500/128meg system and i STILL have issues with really demanding games like Wheel of Time. I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON A VOODOO 6000! The only bad thing is the price... i think its like, 600.00? Not sure; it will be expensive though.

it's a matter of opinion of choice for what type of games you play. i personaly love my voodoo3 3000 AGP in my machine right now. ill stick with 3dfx cards for glide support, plus its the fastest card out there, even faster than most tnt2 ultras.

so theres my vote for the Voodoo3 3000 AGP.

I have the Voodoo3-3000 and I haven't had a single problem with it. I've heard the Geoforce is awesome but I've also heard that there are a lot of problems with it too......something to do with Bios upgrades I think.

But I also hear boasts about PowerVR.

YES!!! It appears that my parents still remember that they used to give me presents on a New Year. And it was very nice to find out that my bank balance increased /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif today due to prior said reason.

Shao, the v3-2000 and 3000 are the same card except the 3000 is clocked slightly higher. oh yeah, and the Retail packaged 3000's have TV-out. i have overlocked my 2000 to 3000 speeds and im sure i could push it even further.

what kind of fan do you use Voyd? im looking to pick up a good fan for my 3000 there.

oh, and Shao,the new PowerVR2 chips aren't that great. i think the card is called the Neon or something like that, but stick with your v3.

just a regular cpu fan, like an old pentium or 486 fan will do fine. mine is a 5000rpm one. i had to be a little creative to attach it on the 2000's small heatsink, but the 3000's is quite a bit larger so you shouldnt have many problems.

I vote the Biboys Glaze3d 1200 and 2400 as "best vaporware".

Since I play Glide games mostly, I have to vote the voodoo3. UT is excellent with it, Tribes is excellent, Half-life runs great too. I play q3a now and then, and it is somewhat lacking, but damn does it kick in the beforementioned games.
