    Who here has animating, modeling, coding, or sound skills? Since 2.9 makes it easier to add weapons in-game I would like to organise a sort of team to get some weapons ready for inspection by the team. That way we can run some polls to see what the community would like in-game (within reason obviously) and add to the variety of choices available.

    I think the best thing would be to only create weapons which are NOT in the INF-armory. Maybe this project can be combined with official INF in the future and thus you wouldn't do double work. :)

    Don't do the polls here.
    So crowze, you could host a special forum section in wich POLLS and not suggestions are held, to see wich weapons have higher priority.
    Me, personally, I can(read: could) help out with some basic texturing.

    It seems that the main problem is animating over here...

    Is the G36 in the armory yet? Well, I know the G36c is... but does that mean that a G36 is out of the possibilities?

    Unless a simple derivant of a weapon is what you deem THE thing INF needs and therefor you spend all your work on coding, animating, texturing and modeling, no, there's little chance someone will make a G36. ;)

    Lets focus on some weapons that are more universally used and would be unique enough to actually show up in someone's loadout.

    Without having done much research yet, I'd like to suggest to make a H&K G3 first.
    Reasons:
    a) everybody wants it
    b) there's no comparable weapon in game
    c) the PSG1 is based on it which means:
    - model could be a modified PSG1 model (shorten barrel, change buttstock, change trigger group, remove scope, add sights)
    - ammo is already in game (PSG1 is using G3 mags)
    - PSG1 sounds could be used
    - PSG1 animations could be used

    Great idea :) I didn´t know that the PSG1 is so similar to the G3.

    The PSG is based on the G3 ACTION not its body, the differences are to great to modify that into a G3.

    My guess would be some AK derivatives (like one AKM and one RPK)

    I would like to see incendiary grenades and throwable smoke grenades ( i got a model).

    First things first lets get the team solidified and a place for us to share info (Crowze threw up a test forum, not sure if he wants that addy out yet though).

    Finally, animation looks like it could be difficult for us as we are still short on animators. If i can get ahold of 3ds max i will try to learn it myself.

    i agree to concentrate on the basic stuff first. if short on animators there are some unanimated weapons as well. one or two more stationary machineguns could realy add some variety to the maps :)

    Does anyone plan to add flashbangs to the mix anytime? Would be a welcome addition to the attackers arsenal for room clearing. ;)
