----> Playing UT through ICQ [tutorial]

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. ---Adding it to ICQ
Go to [ICQ] [Preferences/Security] [Internet Telephony/Games/Chat]

Click on [New External]

For [External Application Name] give it something like 'Unreal Tournament'
For [External Application Executable] click [Browse] and go to UT\System and double click on UnrealTournament.exe
For [Command Line:] Unreal://%i:27027/Index.unr

Then click on [Client-Server Application]

For [External Application Server Executable] click [Browse] and go to UT\System and double click on UnrealTournament.exe
For [Server Command Line] -Port=27027

Then click [OK] near the middle of the dialog box.

---Running the game
-SERVER 1v1
Right click on the name of the person you wanna play with and go to [Internet Telephony/Games] [Other] [Unreal Tournament]
Click [OK] to launch as the Server.
When you launch a server be sure to tell people to wait a minute while you set it up and try to do it quickly.
In UT go to [Multiplayer] [Start New Maultiplayer Game]. Set up your game preferences and then click [Start]

-SERVER Open to all !!!Important!!!
Go to [ICQ] [Preferences/Security] [Events]
In [Select Event To Configure] choose 'Internet Telephony/Games/Chat'
Select 'Auto-Accept Internet Telephony/Games/Chat' to have the clients Auto-Join your game.
Select 'Show Internet Telephony/Games/Chat Response Request Dialog' to have the client wait for you to accept them in ICQ.
It is suggested to go back and set this to 'Show Internet Telephony/Games/Chat Response Request Dialog' so future incoming externals do not suprise you.

-CLIENT receiving external
Click [Accept] and wait for the server to start, but give the game starter a second to set-up. /~unreal/ubb/html/wink.gif

-CLIENT connecting to a running game
Right click on the name of the person running the game and go to [Internet Telephony/Games] [Other] [Unreal Tournament]
Go to [Select Application Server] and choose 'I Am The Client'.
Click [OK] to connect to the game.
