UE3 - UDK Pickups are appearing in floor after re-building paths

I am trying to add some of the default UDK pickups to a level, I have scaled up the objects and placed them above my floor so that they will be completely visible. However, if I re-build my paths, the pickups get shifted down the Z-axis into the level's floor.

Do you know what might be causing this, and how I can keep my objects at the correct Z-position after a re-build? Could this problem have something to do with the scale of the objects?

This is in the January 2010 version of UDK. Was this a bug that was fixed in a later version of UDK?

Normally, you shouldn't scale any pickups. While I haven't used UDK in a while, in the UT 3 editor, it's normal for most pickups to be "auto adjust" themselves on the z-axis so they work properly with bots.

You should be able to pres the "C" key to see the collision of the pickup, which will give you a visual reason why they are doing this.

Though, the UT 3 editor does some add things when it auto adjusts some pickups.
