    Photoshop looks intresting and i know it's mega expensive (atleast here for us canucks...) but i dunno if i wanna rush into getting it since most of the stuff like layers and colors etc i dont know anything about so is there anything i can start myself into and work my way up to photoshop?

    Hmm, during a webdesign course I took a couple of years ago, we've also used Fireworks in conjunction with Photoshop. Free trial here: http://www.macromedia.com/software/fireworks/

    They have plenty of good tutoials there , not how you will learn photoshop STEP BY STEP exacly , but close

    It always depend on what you want to learn.

    Also, does anyone know how to make moving images? something like the cs video with mygot and the virus...www.pwned.nl or something and give them voices.

    After reading reviews on it from people and stuff flashmx seems to be for the experts, i'm just a beginner so i guess i'll just keep looking for flash sites for noobs like me.

    Photoshop CS > all (Paint Shop Pro included)
    Free programs...hm its said that 'gimp' is nice. Never tested it...

    Edit: Ah...eh PS is quite easy to learn. "Good Tutorials" should be 1st choice

    I might get it free from a friend ;) anyway i got a photoshop trial and when i go to the tutorials page listed on this thread and try them most of the stuff on my photoshop is all greyed out, is this supposed to happen on a trial?

    i recommend that you look into gimp and gtk... gimp requires gtk... http://www.gimp.org/... it's open source.
