pawns into statues

    i've noticed in a few maps the author somehow makes a pawn/monster into a statue as in dm-requiem. how do they do this? that would be a lot better than using the monk/nali statues.........

    take an deco actor, a knife or something,
    place in map

    properties > display > mesh > fill in the mesh of the pawn you want

    then animsequence > fill in the movement it should have, open mesh browser, search you actor, and look wich move is cool for your model, and type it there

    then skin > take a stonetexture or something and put it there to make it like a statue, if it doesnt work there try multiskins right above it and place it on place [1]

    dont forget to make an collision hull and stuff and then you should be ready

    Not bad, lucifix I like the texture :D

    Tho, I did one in CTF-AsbestosArena, and it killed my FPS :( :(

    i havent checked the fps yet but it seems to run better than before when the polys went over 300........

    Just a thought....

    Sprites over polys anyday.
    You might wat to find a sprite to replace your "spikes" with.
    Maybe the rifle bullet scaled up with a nice iron looking texture?
    oh yea, looks swell :)

    nice idea, but how do you do it? i have tried to scale things up/down, but apparently I'm not doing it right :lol: and thats actually where the polys reach 300+ the towers with the spikes. i tried making them semi-solid but I could run through them..........

    using a stone texture on a mesh looks like shit, please dont do it

    export the skin of the mesh to PSP and layer it over the stone texture to make a stone texture with some detail on it

    and be sure to use some small highlight point lights to bring out the 'sheen' on your meshes

    environmental lighting usually never works on meshes :)

    which is why I posted a dodge'd skin for j00

    psp can be downloaded in like 20 mins on a 56k

    ive alreadt had the trial, but it ran out a few weeks ago. could i download the evaluation version again or is there another way to get it?
