Who is the PR guy for UnWheel? I mean if this is released I wanna see it everywhere beyond unreal, planet unreal, FilePlanet exclusive.

FilePlanet exclusive is really good for your mod if you can get them to do it. Back in UT 2003 when "Red Orchestra" first came out after a few releases they had a fileplanet exclusive it brought it a hella alot of players. Usaully before it was 5-10 constant players then it changed to 10-15 constant. In fact I prolly wouldn't have never heard of your mod if it wasn't for me searching for a ut2004 racing mod.

Shrimp sorts out PR, but he gets very busy with the coding side, really we could do wit hiring a PR guy (don't take that as a a recruitment post, just my 2 cents)

UnWheel was featured on the home page of fileplanet a month or so ago, and we didnt even ask for it , we found out on accident really, if i remember right, someone just saw it and told us about it, I went and sure enough it was there

The problem with being a FilePlanet exclusive, is that if you're not a paid member, you can't d/l from them. I found and downloaded Unwheel from File Shack for free.

My opinion: GameSpy sucks. Too many ads and pop-ups, you have to register to download something and then wait in a 274-people queue, if you don't want to wait you have to pay big money.

On the other hand, BeyondUnreal kicks ass. It is a nice place, the hosting services are good... and it just owns.

Well I never DL from FilePlanet unless I have too. But I do know lazy gamers and some friends who when wanted to look for a new mod goto fileplanet and see whats on the mods tab or just the main site. If they see something that interest them they google or yahoo it and dl it from a non fileplanet site. Nobody should wait = P

I agree 100% with you oppion of gamespy...But I must admitt, back in the day when Q2 was the best game on the market... I did give them $20 for the full version of their game browser, and as far as I know I can still use that key on their latest browser. Just seems to me that after buying their browser, I should be able to d/l from the private server. I'll be damned if I'm going to give them any more money. I still can't tell the diffrance between the free browser and the pay version Ping Tool was much better & free.
I can't remember why I chose fileshack over beyondunreal been a while sence I've tried to d/l from your host. I'll give the new UW patch a try from your server when you release it.

I've had my dedicated unwheel server up 24/7 sense the initial release of the mod. I get a lot of traffic on it so im doing my part to help you guys out
