Chicken+Ribs Combo (Long Nguyen), having spent the last seven years solo-developing the award-wining UT2004 modification Out of Hell, is ready to start on its spiritual successor, Daemonicon. This time around though, he'll be using UDK and won't be going the solo route. A drive is currently underway to begin funding of the project.

Here's a look back at Out of Hell. Seven years. One guy. Damn!

Wow! The graphics, particularly the environments, still look superb!

OoH, a great accomplishment but has terrible support. It seems if you don't have this specific computer either you get shitty fps/lag or after you beat a level the game crashes for some reason. I only got to the end of the first level and then after that the game just quits out.

Not played it, only looked at the trailer posted on the front page.

I'm impressed, not only that one person can still develop a marketable game but also by the sheer amount of effort they must have put into it. If he can get the follow up out in less than another seven years I wish him success and a large profit :)

The Pc gaming industry needs new talent like this. Not lazy ports, bad mouthing and the usual lack luster efforts of many established software houses.
