Well, I had my computer reformatted over the weekend; actually my uncle gave me his 10gig harddrive, so my old harddrive is still intact, but I don't have enough room in my computer for 2 harddrives. So I've had to re-install everything. But, unfortunatly it seems that my UT disk has a scratch on it, and I can't install it. :( Looks like I'll have to borrow my uncle's copy. So it's going to be a while before I can play/map. :(

I'm up and running now. At a last desperate attempt before borrowing my uncle's, I threw the disk in my burner and it was able to load just fine, unlike my other CD drive. :)

What really sucks is when your CD drive breaks, you spend 2 weeks without being able to play your favorite games, take out the old drive, put in the new one, realize you installed it upside dow, do it again, come back that night to play and realize your game disc is inside of the CD drive you took out of your computer. . . . .

Trust me that sucks.

Yup, formatting a computer is a real pain in the arse, but it was needed. I think I've got most everything working again. Now I just need to get a new 3-D card, which won't be anytime soon seeing that they're not cheap. But hopefully I'll have one for Unreal 2.

But well, I've seen a video of U2 running on a PIII 800 with a Geforce1, and it was smooth. So don't you worry! :) I've been playing Unreal and UT on a P100 32meg Ram with a Voodoo1 for about 3 years... :)

I'm not sure where you live but, I was able to pick up
A PNY brand 64mb Ge Force 2 MX card for $89 at best Buy
a couple months back.
.
I realize it is not a top o' the line card but for the price
it was much better than my 3 year old 1st generation
16mb TNT card .

:biorifle:

I'll have to look into that. I've got a Voodoo 3 in now, but since I got more RAM it seems to overheat it with certain games. I've got Star Trek Armada II, but it dumps back to the desktop because it can't handle the graphics, and I easily meet the min. requirements.
