Any old schoolers still out there? And i mean Unreal and ut99.

I was looking for nbk-brando and boom to see if they played any online games still. I just loaded up brink to check it out and its certainly no UT99...

I have followed Brink for a long time now but I dont feel finally confident with that game. Haven't bought so far. Actually looking for the one that will be old school in 10 years or so :)
BTW good luck with your search.

Hey Sicko. I played Unreal and UT99 a lot and spent many late nights on the FYM server. My handle then was Unibomb. I played UT3 for a bit right after its release, but didn't stick with it for a handful of reasons. I just picked it back up again and am enjoying it, even though my skills are lacking :)

I remember you. I was thinking about picking up UT3 since i have nothing to play really. Brink is a let down, it sounded cool but movement just isnt free as it is in unreal.

I was out tonight and actually looked for UT3 in the store but didnt see it.

Yeah, your best bet is probably buying it online. Amazon has a copy right now for about $15 shipped.

Like I said, I'm enjoying it right now. The movement feels really natural, much like it did in UT99. There aren't many people playing the public servers from what I can tell, but the ones that do are a pleasure to play with.

Ill probably continue playing it until Tribes Ascend comes out later this year.

I don't see why that should come as any surprise. Every title released today in the age of PC gaming consolization should be looked at very very skeptically.

After i watched the videos and saw the light body type moving around it look like it had great movement, but that movement is just pressing shift and space bar and it still feels like im moving through syrup.
