The equivalent M16/M203/TWS combination is about 16 or 17 pounds and costs about $28k whereas the OICW weighs about 18 pounds and costs about $10k to $15k

But then the ammo costs 25 bucks per shot, and probably only for one enemy casualty each.

And without that TWS the M16/M203 combo costs somewhere around $1,000... methinks we just need to start buying our thermals from HK.

I think that the OICW weighs abou 8kgs and the US army wants it to wiegh about 6kgs MAX. It does have some nice features like the laser sighting and the thermal scope. BUT the damn thing costs a fortune! The OICW will be available in 2005 for the elite units like the SEALS and Green Berets. I have a solution for the weight porblem but it would make the cost skyrocket. The designers should use the same polymers that were used in the USP. And then add a steel frame to reinforce the gun even futher. undefined

A cheaper lighter bullpup...

Isreal has made a much cheaper, and much lighter bullpup. Of course, this one dosen't have a grenade launcher, but it only weighs about 5 pounds because it is made of composite materials. Also, unit cost is around $300(minus accesories).

well

The first gun wouldn't need any ammo coz you could just beat your enemy to death /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif no need to buy a knife then... The second gun looks real nice...The last gun looks like some GI JOE toy although those little thingies at the end of the gun barrel would seem to improve your accurancy a lot. (yes there are mistakes in this post)

Yea, if it was relative that guy would have a hell of a time firing it... the only explanations would be:

1- The guy is about the size of the incredible hulk. Run. Don't look back, just avoid eye contact and run from the large person.

2- IMI is catering to assault rifle owners ages 4-10. That would be kinda funny, but very scary. Laugh and run (from the 6 year olds digging up their weapons stash from the sandbox) at the same time.
