Well, the problem with the OICW is that it sucks, unfortunately. Alot of things are very wrong with it. You can't use it as a support/anti-personnel weapon, at the same time, for example because of the single trigger. The trigger selector and airburst programmer is beyond fucked up. Its also huge, and very, very expensive, and very heavy.

That's why I said INF 3.5

I wasn't refering to the INF team implementing it, I meant the US Army implementing it. So at that time it would no longer be an experimental weapon. (I'd say 2015 or so)

Damn, that thing is HUGE! I'd hate to have to lug that thing around...As for the weapon system itself..To me it seems like they're trying to do too much too fast. Plus with all the added "technification" the damn thing's going to be infinitely more likely to succumb to Murphy and break. Superior technology does not equal guaranteed victory. I kinda thought that lesson was learned in Vietnam...(Then again, look what hapened in Kuwait..) I just like the fact that despite all the high tech doodads it's still perfectly possible for somebody to sneak around the rear, shoot an OICW soldier in the back with his $300 black market AK, and then run off with the $10,000 Uber-mega death cannon of 20MM air-bursting Penultimate Annihilation.(OICW)
Almost as much fun as watching Ewoks beat Stormtroopers to death with large sticks...
But it's still a neat gun...
