That bridge looks nice but I hope there aren't any bears in the region.

Ah! I had an 11 hour layover there once and was going to go check this park out, but thanks to Air Canada losing my luggage, I didn't have time.:(

I recently had a non-tutored project, selecting a title from a list of books and creating a cover jacket for it. However, these books on the list were non-existent and could not be read to discover the content of the book, so using only the title; we had to put in our own interpretation. I chose the title “The Voice of Silence” – go figure.

I wouldn’t consider this my final piece yet. I may alter the text/mess about with the cracks, but you get the gist of what I’m trying to portray!

Strobist Info:
Large softbox to the right side of the camera
Reflector to the left front of the camera

EDIT: Just to point out the obvious... I took the photo, did the manipulations, etc.

Yeah, I know. It was a 2 week project from start to finish though and frankly didn't have the time to dedicate to coming up with something hugely unique. I fully admit it's been done to death, and stating the obvious.

But this is the Photography thread, not the whos-idea-is-most-unique thread ;)

LOL, people can be very harsh when it comes to photo illustrations. Suddenly it becomes "art" and people feel the need to critique harshly against other forms of artwork.

Igoy.. please come back from the dark side!

Did everyone miss my scantly clad woman from the previous page? LOL

I've always found aquariums hard to photograph. Smuges on glass, low lighting, screaming kids. LOL

So... when do you branch into artistic nudity?

Soon as I have a full dedicated studio instead of using my living room. I'm in no hurry. There will always be pretty girls.

We haven't finished hacking your website to get her number yet.

She will be moving to the Chicago area in about a month. Check out Model Mayhem if you wish to work with her.

I don't take many pics...
but my bro(seeker) and sis(mredria) have nice cameras and love the hobby. :D

Nice shots. I especially like the mountain shot. I also like the red head.. too bad she isn't a real red head.

Now we talkin'. I like the fact there's dull clouds on the left while on the right you have a fest of pixel goodness. And the fact that the left mountains have a mossy-looking setup, while the right rocky and snowy.

This shot is more than a keeper.
Bigger resolution?

Also, your sis got a fetish for Tigers tasting their weee balls? :B

If you click the images it goes to my their respective photo streams.

Billy, my brother said Yosimite was beautiful.
Him and his girlfriend really enjoyed it.
As a gift, my brother took his best pics and did this "self publish" thing and gave his girl a book as a keepsake! :D

oh, as for the "ballz"
My sis was at the zoo and saw the tiger "clean'n his junk"
She decied "teh funny" was too good to pass up.
If you want to macro it, go for it.

SEEKER: In the fullsize version of capitan, you can see the snowflakes. oh, and that's snow, not clouds.

As a follow-up to "screaming kids", you also forgot "kids darting in and out of your view while you're trying to compose the picture". :D I suppose that's really more of a problem with point-and-shoot where you're relying on the auto-focus and exposure. Always fun to get a pic of an up-close, motion-blurred kid. :p

Haha, I had those too! Eventually I started taking photos with them in it. Some how giving up suddenly made the photos "photojournalistic" LOL
