Not a bad Game

I bought this game when it first came out but only the last few weeks have I spent alot of time playing it. Some of the early levels were terrible and it was a struggle to
get past them. I am on level 23 or 24 now and the last half-dozen or so have been most fun. There is alot to like about the game
and Unreal tourney is OK but I prefer single
player.

I actually thought the first few levels were the most memorialble because of the mood and scripts. Of course any level by CliffyB is gonna be good. The only think that dissapointed me was the lack of scripts in later levels, kind of like they slacked off.

No thanks... I've already had my *** handed to me today.

I LOVE the part in level 2 where that grunt throws the d00d against the wall, that just about gave me a heart attack the first time. Same thing in level 1 where that door is about 3 inches off the ground and you hear something eating a man on the other side and blood is flying out under the door. Really awesome scripting.

Thanks for the link Hellscrag, i read your review and now i want to buy it... though i still REALLY wish they released a demo of it, like every OTHER game does.. Though i do remmber playing a bit of it once. It was a long time ago, i'm guessing when it was first coming out... i was getting my computer updated to a P166 (HA!) and was at the computer shot waiting for it to be done. I found it running on a computer there and sat down and played. From what i remember, it did kick *** ... I remember something about walking down a long lit up hallway, reaching a dead end, then walking back. But half way there a noise stopped me, suddenly the lights on either side of my started going off with a "tunk, tunk, tunk" until i was in pitch black, and something jumped out screaming and tearing me appart... i blindly kicked it's *** somehow and ran the hell out of there. If the rest of the game is anything like that memory of it, i'm looking forward to it...

Just goto best-buy and buy the freakin game for 15 bucks! It's the best price for a game out there.

Why would you make a demo for a game thats been around for 2 years.

I bought it when it came out. I had been following it since about 95 when it was being designed for N64.

first of all, when i talk about them making a demo, i meant when they first made the game.. infact they STILL have a page up somewhere promising a shareware version..
and second of all, i would go to Best Buy if there were any in Canada...
After reading Hellscrags review of the game, i do think it's worth the money, if i could find the damn thing anywhere

Paid $20 for it about 1 1/2 years ago. Hasn't been removed from my HD yet. Not planning on it.
BTW, the "slacking off" was in regard to the scripts, not levels. Levels that have extra involvment like watching the skaar run through the vents as you approach (lvl1) add to the atmosphere and make the level more memoriable to me.

after not finding it in a closer store, which is RIGHT next to my college, in the same complex.. i took the time to go all the way down to the local mall during one of my longer breaks. since the damn game has been out, i've seen it in the computer store there, every single time i went. of course, as is the case EVERY time i want to buy a god damn game, when i go there to buy it today, it's gone. they decided to bundle it with tomb raider2 and total annihalation and sell it for like 50 bucks. maybe i can order it online or something....
