get a grip crazy! I had to do the long d/l too, but it's well worth it!
I when to a AS cars server (knowing that those maps take 30-60 minutes to play) then connected to an emty UW server and voted for Suicide. I spectated the AS server while waiting for the map to d/l.
Took a while, but it worked. It's a masterpeice!!!!!

Beats me man why it does that... I litterally FTP'ed the map I have on my computer (which is the newest version) to the server and it works great for me. So I have no clue. Just bite the bullet and go get some food while it downloads and hope no one joins during the DL and kicks you off at a map change . .lol.

Get a cache cleaner and take the old map out of your UT2004\Cache directory (or just delete everything in your cache if you don't have a lot of stuff in there) and then install the new map in the correct location and you should be good to go.

I'm guessing you have the old map cached still.

And the no. of posts is often indirectly proportionate to the user's intelligence. I mean look at me, twice as many posts as Shrimp, half the intelligence.

i am afraid to tell you that there are somme nerdz on Sniperman's server that just want to play KB KB KB KB .............. etc , or ctf

they where 3 of em , you might have saw them before , they always say '' dave'' , they call anyone ''dave''

i got banned by those dudes just because i was bored , i decided to take the big ass yellow truck just to block the ball , then the 3 little friends kick vote baned me

man , they just rip our fun , they always play in the same daamn map and ''hate to race''

they all want the same damn thing , why they don't go and create their own game , and play thier little KB KB KB all the time , and us play the way the mod is meant to be played

In all fairness (cause I gotta be) ... if they voted the map thats totally fair (although not for you). While it is lame to have that kind of power in the server by rigging the vote with friends (which is why I try and limit the # of times a map can be played before another) it is also just a lame to try and ruin the game for them by blocking things with huge ass cars. Although... I will always favor server regulars so if im around and u wanna race for a few because they are rigging the vote via numbers... let me know and I'll change the map for a round or two But dont ruin the game for them as it could lead to a loss of unwheel players... afterall .. KB is a mode of play

Just look at it this way ,... a lot of the time all of us are on the server rigging the vote for only racing maps because we like it. Just imagine how we would feel if some lameass was blocking the track with a bus or truck because he did not like racing.. Clearly id kick / temp ban them ... but u get the idea .. lol.

Hey $n][pErMan, did you ever get to the bottom of what happened when I got baned from your server a while back??? Kantham's post reminded me of it. Haven't had a problem sence then. Matter of fact, I forgot all about it till I read his post.

^ Did they vote kick you off that one time? If so that would do it... otherwise I have no clue. I think.. if I remember right .. telling you it said something about an invalid key or some wierd **** and disconnected you for that reason. I dont recall. As long as you have had 0 problems sense I guess all is good I did save that logfile though incase the problem ever happens again we could compare and find out why.

Nah I like Race, but I prefer Rabbit, nothing says fun more than piling into people at high speeds. Although if there's enough players I prefer a team game or two.

I love TKball WHEN people KNOW HOW TO PLAY it Then its a blast along with TCTF Team Rabbit would be pretty tight too.... blocking other cars and stuff from hitting your flag carrier.
