You were smarter than me. If there's a sale on the Ultimate Edition I'm grabbing that as I still haven't purchased Awakenings nor any DLC beyond what came in my pre-ordered Digital Deluxe Edition.

Oh the game is 60$ too.
    More meh.

I liked the trailers and all, but from the demo, this announcement and the price I'm still far from convinced it's a day one.

I guess I'll wait like hal.

I pre-ordered a PC limited version, and here in China it costs 238 chinese "dollars", which is about 36$.

Hmmm... 49.99 EUR on Steam or 31.49 EUR plus free shipping from Play.com?

I do like Steam, but with that price difference and no real Steam-related features in the game it's shipping from Jersey all the way...

Same probably goes for the new Duke - it's 37.49 EUR at Play AND you'll get to add it to Steam anyway, just like you did with Civ V...

Did anybody really expect anything different?

Welcome to the new age of DLC. If you allow the community to make its own maps, you won't be able to push your own ****ty ones for cash money as DLC later down the line.

You will never see another editor for a game, at least not from a developer/publisher that supports DLC.

Had you read the thread you would not have needed to ask that question.
I'm sure however that you just wrote that to be on your look-at-me-I'm-so-cynical-high-horse. But I wrote the above line just in case it was an actual question.

As for your second statement, I'm sure there's more examples, but Borderlands says hi.

The community hacking the .exe to unlock a deliberately-locked UE3-default editor doesn't count.

You know I have not been a mapper around these places for a while... UT3 was not my cup of tea... Bulletstorm is awesome loved the demo, but now that it has no editor why even bother. I was excited to see this game come out and have all these great elements. I want to go into it make some cool ****... Oh well... I guess not.

I feel that was not the brightest of decisions... I was hoping maybe to jump back...

    Edit:

I guess ill test out crytek...

And over the years I've bought Unreal Tournament again in various forms more times than I can count on one hand.

Same here. And if Homefront's devs ever decide to officially unlock their ED..
Be on the lookout for a community unlocked Bulletstorm ED though.

The editor for Borderlands could have been rendered unusable with a patch, but that didn't happen. 2K/Gearbox didn't feel it was threatening to their DLC, even with the mods based on the DLC around.

If they had disabled it, a ****storm would have followed.
