    Corrupt Mexican government comments start here:

    I wonder how much cocaine was really on that plane.

    Yeah, because 5.5 tons of it in 128 suitcases? That would come out to about 86 pounds per suitcase, which sounds unrealistic.

    Take a big suitcase and compare it to a 100lb bag of white flour (assuming that the densities are similar). Sounds realistic enough for me.

    Consider the fact that my suitcase to take my clothes home is regularly over 50 pounds and is hardly compressed at all leads me to believe that 100lb/suitcase is very doable.

    No it's not. Most airlines set weight "suggestions" at around 75 pounds (we suggest it's overpacked, give us more money).

    I miss the days that the starting post of a thread dealing with news had... you know, actual content. Maybe in this format:

    <link>
    <short paragraph from the article, or poster's take on the situation>
    <Poster's take can also be placed here>

    Now, it's more like:

    <link>

    or

    <entire article pasted with nothing else to go with it>

    So that's what... 600 pesos? ;)

    Only if you do it backwards. More like 6,000,000,000,000 pesos, I'm afraid.

    It proves that drugs can be a serious problem.As you all probably know, cocaine can cause people to release their inhibitions and let loose in situation where they're CLEARLY are supposed to restrain themselves. That explains why many prostuites are or were cocaine addicts. It is also used as regional anaesthics in some countries. Before the appearance of crack in the 1970s, cocaine was extremely expensive, and could can only be afforded by the extremely rich. Both Elvis Presley and Norma Jean a.k.a Marylin Monroe struggled with addiction to this particular drug.

    They committed suicide. They couldn't cope with the pressure of fame, and that was why they took cocaine. To escape the pain and the stress.
