Newbie Question

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

You'll need a 3D modelling program (try Maya, it comes on CD6 of UT2004 (if you have the DVD version, it's in the folder marked CD6)

Also you'll need a texturing program (photoshop, no competition) and UnrealEd (installed into your Ut2004/system folder)

If you need tutorials try www.3Dbuzz.com

Absolutely amazing, I've been mapping for 4+ years and I still learnt something new from them. Plus they collaborate with Epic (one new tool in Unreal Ed - the array - was added because of a request by 3D Buzz). What's more, it's free!

you're legally allowed to use it for mod making, character making or map making, akthough you might only be able to use it for the Unreal Engine (which is what UnWheel uses) but I'm not sure.

Commercial uses are stuff like games or movies (yes Maya was used in movies, Monsters Inc. and Final Fantasy to name but a few) that you would earn money from or would attempt to sell. You'd have to buy the commercial one for that (about $1,000)

New Question: How do I convert a mp3 I created into a songfile attachable to my map?
And sorry for the necropost, I didnt think creating a new thread would be viable.

get a program that converts mp3 to .ogg, put the file in your music folder, then put the name of the song in the level properties in Ued, build, save, done.
