I finally got around to setting up a web page for my new assault squad. Check it out here. I don't think I'll be able to convert many of my SF clanmates to inf, so I need some recruits to fill in the ranks.

Oh, and my name & sig pic say AFD (My SF Clan) because I haven't changed my sig yet :p and I can't change my name :(

I'll have a nice server up on a T1 as soon as 2.85 is out.

Oh, and ILCR makes me vomit. Blood. Along with little chunks of my stomach lining.

No offense to its creators, it's a well thought out concept and put together very professionally, but it is exactly what I don't want from the squad/clan experience. Required wars every week, opponents decided for you... ugh. Way too formal. I prefer the system at clanbase, where you have much more freedom.

Then don't participate.

Go join a real military unit. You will fight "required wars" when ordered, and opponents will be "decided for you."

And this: -- "Oh, and ILCR makes me vomit. Blood. Along with little chunks of my stomach lining." --

...was a bit harsh, don't you think? For something you're simply not interested in? Why gratuitously insult those who have put so much effort into it?

Ah, yes, that was a bit harsh. I do have a tendency to exagurate things.

Join a real military unit? Lol. You're missing the point here... computer games are supposed to be fun, an entertaining diversion from ordinary life. Normally realistic happenings enhance the fun of the game, but not always. You wouldn't be happy if your entire team got napalmed from a passing bomber, even though it would be realistic (on some maps). If I was to accept the realism of having required conflicts when and with whom my superiors choose, I would also want the realism of a military salary and a large chunk of money to go towards my college education (They do that in the US, not sure about other places).

Ah... pretty much all of my old SF clan agreed to try INF anyway, so this whole thread is kinda pointless ;

The system is not for everyone. I understand and accept that I will not be able to please everyone. But I do my best to do so. Ask any member of ILCR, and they'll tell you I go the extra distance to make sure the teams have a say in almost every aspect. But I digress..

ILCR is not just a league, its also a clan registry. You should at least stop by and register your team, no need to compete. There is certainly no harm in that.

Oh well, See you in the servers. (Soon I expect :))
