ok lets try and keep this positive voice your opinions and also lets tell new people how to use the stuff in the new patch..

I am having trouble getting the custom hud to set as i customize it it reverts back to the default ,any ideas?

the new custom crosshairs are great if you already do not know you must check the custum crosshairs box and then pick each weapon from the priority list and set the crosshair you want and color each one must be done by it'self at least that is how i got it to work

Ranger is much more powerfull a mabye to much will wait for more imput.

smoke is about right but could disperse a little faster,i can not deploy it and hide in it and then back track i am overrun before it is dense enuff just my opinion on that.

pistol seems spot on just right

going to go test more BBiab

The Pistol is like... woopidoo right now, You can empty a whole clipp in 1.5 seconds... speed needs to be decreased imo to like 3.5-4 rounds per second instead of 5.

Yeah i agree with Iddqd, the pistol seems to be the most powerful weapon in the game atm, and yet the gunner is still somehow faster than the ranger because of his more powerful boosters and the fact that you cant bunny hop in the game :(, so its balanced in a way but maybe in the wrong way if you see what im getting at. Also some minor things: zoomed sniper crosshair isnt straight so you cant be sure where the exact centre is, some manned turrets appear occupied when they arent, exiting moving vehicle=instant death, rampant windows very hard to get through :)
but imo its a big improvement on the first release as there are far less bugs and in general the crosshairs are much much better.

First, if you race the ranger and gunner across a map, I guarantee that the ranger will leave the gunner in the dust. There is no way the gunner is faster than the ranger. The gunner is faster than he was in u2xmp, but definitely not faster than the ranger as a whole. This "faster" boost that you speak of impacts the dm balance a lot less then you realize. Especially since a gunner can only dodge sprint boost twice before loosing the ability to do so. When you have vets playing both classes - it makes minimal difference.

Second, the bunny hop occurs for ALL classes. So this is not something that should be attributed to a class difference in regards to speed. You say the gunner is faster, yet rangers can still keep a good distance from him in the wide open. I can never get close if the ranger wants to stay far off.

Third, in regards to in person battle, the ranger still does exceptionally well. I played against some excellent rangers and they are still hard to kill - nbk-RED is a prime example. In light of these so called nerfed movements, he was still able to compensate and definitely own.

Finally, I understand your concerns about gunner vs ranger movement, but in reality people are learning to deal with them effectively.

no, i think if you race a good gunner against a good ranger across a map in utxmp the gunner will win, both classes can only dodge boost twice and the gunner can do it further. As bunny hopping isnt included the ranger's ground speed advantage is minimal. Albeit all classes were able to use bunny hopping it was mostly a ranger characteristic as he is supposed to be the fastest class. In battle it seems balanced, but wrongly such that the gunner is tough and fast but the ranger has some kind of super canon in the form of a pistol which fires more like a machine gun. So battles are fair atm but somehow not right.

A long long way from home...
Agreed, ranger boost is still not quite what it was in UTXMP, The gunner is still far too versitile...

The dodge landing thing where you float around, whatever people are calling it is stopping the movement of the classes being properly compared IMO :(

Sorry, but this statement is just flat wrong in light of the newest patch. When headshots were added back in, it made all the difference in the world when fighting a gunner, especially if you have room to move. Otherwise, if you're in an enclosed area you better expect to get fragged.

Okay, let me give you a perspective on this that will make it more than obvious that the ranger is faster.

I raced a ranger on lowlands from middle of blue base to red node before the patch was implemented. So you could make the hud transparent and actually CJ decently although it's not as good as it was in u2xmp.

Ranger made it to the node when I was about halfway up the hill outside of the base to the red node.

- That's with cjing 4 times...the boost jump...sprinting...yet the ranger beat my ass down.

- Now, you definitely can't cj at all...so the difference will be even greater.

ok i agree after further testing the pistol is slightly fast in primary ,secondary is perfect most of the difference for me was being able to see the crosshairs, and yes the center of the sniper rifle in zoom mode is not aligned and needs to be fixed.also the dodge bug need imediate attention but this patch does for me at least bring the game much closerwe need some patched servers to practice in and to check the speed of ranger vz gunner....

Sure you can ;)
How do you think blind ppl get around in life.
Well, anyway, there is still a way to get rid of the blindness. I think fmi already knows about it, so -when that's patched- the only other way would be thru graphics card drivers (Ex: wireframe mode).
