Hi all,

Is it possible to add new animations to the existing character animations in ut2003 (juggernaut etc.)? Does anybody knows some tuts which deal with this?

Yes it is, but only if you use 3Dmax 5 with character studio and have the released character rigs. Sorry, don't know of any tuts though. It's not exactly difficult mind you, as long as you've got some experience using Biped and of course of general animation work.

And if the animations are in addition to the Epic onces, you need to make some code to make sure they are actually used. You dont have to do this if your animations replace the default once.

Well, the files are all Max native files (not the .3ds export format) so yes you'll need Max for a start to even open them. Max should be able to export to a format that Maya will recognize though, the only problem then of course is the fact that Biped is exclusive to Max, so the models won't work with Maya anyway, so you'd have to create your own bone structure and rig the characters, then animate them fully from scratch.
