This is just a short list of the what's been going on lately, and will be in Beta 2 (probably releasing at the end of March).

    Code:
    New HUD.
New Scoreboard with 3D Trophys for top 3 players.
Added option to disable braking when accellerating after reversing.
Added 'drop camera' - 'drops' the free camera at it's current location and tracks the player
     - Can be zoomed in the the same way as free camera distance is controlled
     - Makes a nice TV-style camera
    Added less rigid behind-the-car view
     - Camera lags behind vehicle rotation and location.
     - Camera distance can be changed the same as the free camera.
    Added option to configure gravity
     - makes vehicles feel less floaty.
     - stiffens suspension to negate the extra weight of more gravity.
Tweaked UT2003 default physics to be more UnWheel friendly
     - Improved collisions with objects, collisions are more 'solid'.
     - Upped UT2003 Karma object max speed limit.
Added Turbo boost, allows a quick boost of speed and recharges slowly.
    Added damage
     - With each collision strong enough, damage increases.
     - Vehicle will emmit a stream if smoke which gets thicker as damage increases.
     - Vehicle moves slower as damage increases.
     - Can be repaired in a pit lane if available.
Added muliple skins for each vehicle, an be chosen when selecting vehicle.
    Many vehicle physics tweaks.
    KBall changes and revisions
     - KBall built into main UnWheel package, no extra download.
     - Mapper can define custom physics and texture for the ball.
     - Various bug fixes.
    Re-did most dust effects.
    Added vehicles
     - Venom GTS-R.
     - Flair Seeker.
Many new maps for all gametypes.

Hey there, nice to hear from you again ;)

Think we might be able to get another vehicle out of you before the end of the month? I was thinking something like a Land Rover, Toyota Hilux or RAV4, Nissan Hardbody - one of those nice 4x4 type things... But with little (normal) wheels this time ;)

    *hope*

Oh, and that's with a poly count less that 6000 :D. Doesn't even need a fancy skin.

also, put more control of the camera at the mapper's discretion... like points at the map where the camera would be, what the camera would do (stay still, follow a path , follow the car etc etc) at different points in the map, maybe good for 'resident evil' style control , or replays... yeah, can replays be done? that would seriously solidify unwheel's existence as a mod!

    thats all for now..umm..i guess...

and i look forward to ut2k4 unwheel! their suspension effects are cool... plus you get to use non-wheeled vehicles! oh wait, thats not gonna go well with the mod's name...

hmm small wheeled trucks? like lowriders etc etc? hmm... if only unreal allowed some general modularity of stuff that you put into it... like... hmm... gamers can choose from a menu if their nissan sx(or whatever it actually is) should have normal proper wheels, or have giant monster truck wheels... its like that hot-wheels toy series, where all the cars in it can be modified with bigger wheels... like, the moddeling people shouldnt have to do a small-wheel version of a car and a monster-wheel version, instead theres just the top part of a car and the bottom suspension part thats made seperately... wonder if that's possible...

It should be posible, the UT2003 bulldog uses a body mesh and four wheel meshes. So technically it should be relatively easy to code a menu inside UnWheel that allows you to change the wheel mesh. Of course giant and tiny wheels would require different static mesh elevations...

another thing that the hot wheels toys had was a seperate suspension model that goes under the car so that ... umm... well it looks real, and not looking like just a chasis floating above 4 big wheels ... like something out of the rayman universe or something (besides these are real toys and it would have been impossible anyway)

    example: http://www.hotwheels.com/us/product.asp?category_type_id=7&id=11383&category_id=7832

so you'll need the main chasis , in addition to a suspension mesh , which by the looks of it is seperate from the main chasis mesh in ut2k4... then at last you need the wheels...
