Need to upgrade my POS comp!

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Allright folks, here is my current computer:
www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/wwcathc/2140L31.html
Now I have upgraded that sucker with a soundblaster live soundcard, an A-trend Helios3D voodoo2 card (12MB), @home cable modem and upgraded to 96 ram.

Alas this is not decent enough to run Unreal Tournament in all it's glory. With my pentium 233 I'm starting to see slowdown. I want to upgrade to a 500 (Or 600 if the price is right) but I'm not sure if my motherboard can take it. Any suggestions?

uhhh...your mobo's not going to take anything whatsoever. You can't even buy chips for it anymore. And IBM doesn't exactly have the most upgrade friendly hardware in the world (read: you're not going to find a new mobo to stick in the case) Time for a new case, mobo, and chip. I'd personally reccommend an Asus K7M, and an Athlon of whatever speed you can afford. You're also gonna need new RAM. as in PC100.

If you're low on budget, do a Celeron setup, but it's going to hurt in a year or 2.
