Need help with installing win2000 over XP

Does anyone know how to install windows2000 over windows XP,when i tried to install windows 2000 right over XP a message came up saying something to the lines of this. You cannot install an older version of windows. (just a little info.) i have 2 hdd both ntfs format, with one version of windows (XP), i just want to install win2000 on my secondary hdd. I also tried to use the win2000 bootdisks and nothing really happened like it said it would. Thanks

you need to make a dual boot, you cant just install it like that, thats really syco, not cool, but dunno howy ou make this dual boot setup, maybe try an specialised software forum, youll prolly get the best answer there

you don't have to anything extra to dual boot. it is set up for you when you install more than one OS.

Have you considered having a swappable hd system?
Swap a hd for win xp
shut it down unlock the hd pull it out ...then put in the win 2k hd..lock it...and start up. simple and easy. No interfierence.
down side is you cant use both drives at the same time.

Swappable hd does cost a little bit.
basically its a kit that you can use your existing hd's.
You basically use one forward slots on your case for it. So i hope you have room. I like having it on the top slot above all the cdroms and zip drives. Since the hd's creat a lot of heat its best to have it at the top.

You should at least look into it.
Other wise you have the dual boot method. It sucks and i would never want to do it again.
